1. Who we are
Art Gate ("we," "us," or "the app") is a parental screen‑time tool that lets children earn time on the apps you choose by answering age‑appropriate art questions. This policy explains how Art Gate handles information.
2. Information we do not collect
We have designed Art Gate to work entirely on your device. We do not collect:
- Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or contact information
- Location data
- Photos, contacts, or files
- Advertising identifiers or device fingerprints
- Usage analytics or behavioral data
Art Gate does not require an account and does not ask your child to sign in.
3. Information stored on your device only
To make the app work, Art Gate stores the following locally on your device (using Apple's standard on‑device storage). This information never leaves your device and is never sent to us or anyone else:
- Child profile details you enter (such as a first name or nickname, age, and difficulty settings)
- Art session results, accuracy, streaks, and earned reward badges
- Your app‑lock selections and unlock‑time preferences
This data is removed when you delete the app from your device.
4. Screen Time & Family Controls
Art Gate uses Apple's Family Controls / Screen Time framework to lock and unlock the apps you select. This happens entirely on your device through Apple's system. The identities of the apps you choose are represented by privacy‑preserving tokens that Apple provides — Art Gate cannot see your usage history, and this information is never transmitted to us.
5. Purchases
Subscriptions and the one‑time Lifetime purchase are processed by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. Apple handles all payment information; Art Gate never sees or stores your payment details. Apple may process this information under Apple's Privacy Policy.
6. Children's privacy (COPPA & the App Store Kids guidelines)
Art Gate is intended to be set up and managed by a parent or guardian, and is designed to be safe for children. Because we collect no personal information from anyone — including children under 13 — there is nothing for us to use, disclose, or sell. We comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar laws by simply not collecting children's data at all. The app contains no behavioral advertising and no links that lead children off the app outside of the parent‑facing setup and legal pages.
7. No third‑party sharing
We do not share information with third parties because we do not collect any. Art Gate includes no third‑party advertising or analytics services.
8. Data security
Because your information stays on your device, it is protected by your device's own security (such as your passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID). The parent dashboard is additionally protected by device authentication.
9. Changes to this policy
If we ever change how Art Gate handles information, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
