Kids earn screen time by learning art

Art Gate locks the apps you choose until your child answers a few quick, age‑perfect art questions. Color, shape and craft first — screen time second.

Why parents love it

Screen time with a purpose

🔒

You choose what's locked

Pick the exact apps and categories that stay blocked until the art challenge is complete. The lock holds even when Art Gate is closed.

⏱️

Auto‑unlock you control

Set how long screen time lasts. Apps unlock when the challenge is done and re‑lock automatically when the timer runs out.

📈

Real progress tracking

See accuracy by topic, daily streaks, most‑missed questions, and earned reward badges — all in the parent dashboard.

🎯

Age‑perfect difficulty

Five tiers from ages 5 to 13+. Color mixing and shapes come first; the elements of art, composition and art history unlock as your child grows.

🛡️

Private by design

No ads, no trackers, no accounts. Everything stays on your device. We never collect or sell your family's data.

What kids learn

Five strands, 920 questions

Every question is written for the age that gets it. Five‑year‑olds are asked what two paints make green; teenagers are asked about negative space and Hokusai.

Color & Mixing

Primaries, secondaries, warm and cool, tints and shades.

Elements of Art

Line, shape, form, texture, value and space.

Tools & Materials

Brushes, clay, collage, printmaking and how to care for them.

Design & Composition

Balance, pattern, focal points and leading lines.

Art History & Artists

From Hokusai and the Benin bronzes to Gutai and Wifredo Lam.

Art History opens at age 9 — recognizing that blue and yellow make green comes first.

How it works

Three simple steps

1

Set it up once

Create your child's profile, choose the apps to lock, and set the difficulty and unlock time. Settings are protected by Face ID.

2

Kids answer to unlock

When your child wants their apps, Iris gives them a short set of art questions. Get them right, earn the screen time.

3

Time's up, art is back

When the timer ends, apps re‑lock automatically. A quick new challenge unlocks them again. Practice becomes a daily habit.
